Golden Milk/Turmeric Latte Easy & Vegan + Benefits

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 cup canned coconut milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbs maple syrup
  • 1 turmeric root 1-2 inch
  • 1 ginger root 1 inch
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 vanilla pod optional, you can also use vanilla extract
  • pinch of freshly cracked black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Peel the turmeric and the ginger root.
  • In a pan, add the turmeric, ginger, cinnamon and vanilla. Cover with 1 cup of water and wait for water to boil.
  • Once the water boils, cover the pan and lower the heat. Cook for around 10 minutes or until the water changes color and becomes fragrant.
  • Strain and save the liquid. This will be your turmeric infusion.
  • Warm the milk in a pan or microwave. If you have a milk frother, use it to add foam to your latte.
  • Serve in a mug: Add 1 part infusion, 1 part milk and 1 tbs of maple syrup. Mix well. Enjoy!
