The colder months are approaching fast, which means we need hot and cozy drinks to keep us warm. You need to learn how to make this golden milk/turmeric latte which is so easy to make and its vegan! Golden milk is the nickname, but turmeric latte really explains what it is. This drink is also full of benefits, which will all be explained further.
Turmeric is a yellow spice that comes from a flowering plant called Curcuma Longa. The turmeric plant is part of the ginger family. It is very commonly used in the Indian, Arabic and other asian cuisines.
The Golden Milk/Turmeric Latte drink:
This drink is made from an infusion of the turmeric root. The infusion is then mixed with warm vegan milk and sweetened with a bit of maple syrup.

Tips & Recommendations:
You could also use honey for extra benefits. However honey is not vegan.
- Milks you could use: Coconut milk, oat milk, soy milk, almond milk, rice milk, hemp milk, cashew milk etc. If you are not a Vegan, you could use cow milk. However, not encouraged.
- Preferably use turmeric root for the infusion. If you do not have the root then use the powder form.
- If you are using powder turmeric, then make sure it is only turmeric powder (can be confused with curry for its color).

Golden Milk/Turmeric Latte Easy & Vegan + Benefits
Ingredients
- 1.5 cup canned coconut milk
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbs maple syrup
- 1 turmeric root 1-2 inch
- 1 ginger root 1 inch
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 vanilla pod optional, you can also use vanilla extract
- pinch of freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions
- Peel the turmeric and the ginger root.
- In a pan, add the turmeric, ginger, cinnamon and vanilla. Cover with 1 cup of water and wait for water to boil.
- Once the water boils, cover the pan and lower the heat. Cook for around 10 minutes or until the water changes color and becomes fragrant.
- Strain and save the liquid. This will be your turmeric infusion.
- Warm the milk in a pan or microwave. If you have a milk frother, use it to add foam to your latte.
- Serve in a mug: Add 1 part infusion, 1 part milk and 1 tbs of maple syrup. Mix well. Enjoy!
