The perfect start to a warm day: A Vegan Tropical Smoothie Bowl that will transport you to a beach in the Caribbean. Cold, sweet, fruity. Not much to say about this smoothie bowl other than it is super easy to make, and packed with nutrition (both micros and macros).
To make this, you will need a high speed blender or a blender that is capable of blending frozen fruit. You could also use a food processor.
Tips to make a perfect thick vegan tropical smoothie bowl:
- Make sure you have a base of frozen fruit. This smoothie bowl was made with a base of frozen banana, frozen mango, and frozen pineapple.
- Add the least amount of liquid as possible but enough for the blender to do its job.
Tips to make a smoothie bowl more nutritious:
- Add a source of protein: such as vegan protein powder or a nut butter.
- Add a source of fat: such as nut butter or seeds.
For this smoothie bowl, unflavoured vegan protein was used as a protein source. Hemp seeds was used as a fat source. Additionally, Maca powder was incorporated to give the smoothie extra superfood benefits.
Lets talk toppings:
This smoothie goes best with granola on top, seeds and extra fruit. However, feel free to add nut butter, chocolate, goji berries, crunchy quinoa, dried coconut or other dried fruit, etc. The possibilities are endless.
Once instagram pictures are taken, mix your smoothie well and eat comfortably (LOL!):
